Courtney + Walker / yellowstone national park intimate wedding
Courtney + Walker had the most beautiful wedding day in Cooke City despite the rain and chilly early summer weather! They celebrated at Walker’s family cabin in Cooke City, right outside of Yellowstone National Park- a place that they’ve recreated in and created memories at for many years. Driving in, I got a little turned around and knocked on a neighbor’s door to get directions (no cell service in this area!) and the neighbors knew Courtney and Walker and were soooo excited for them to get married. Seriously the sweetest small-town thing. They got ready in separate cabins on the property and Courtney had such beautiful details to capture- including matching Blundstone Boots. Their ceremony was so intimate and overlooked the mountains surrounding the town. They were married by Walker’s sister who was just the perfect officiant. The whole ceremony was emotional and filled with laughter and tears. After a few family photos, Courtney and Walker jumped into my car and we drove into Yellowstone National Park- just a few short minutes away! We took photos at a few different locations until the light drizzle turned into a full-on rainstorm. The park was mostly quiet as it was still early season and the weather wasn’t great but they did get a few honks from visitors passing by where we were taking photos. One of the coolest things that Courtney did was gift Walker a film camera and they used it to take a few portraits of each other which was a really fun moment! After about an hour, we headed back to the cabin where a tent and huge table were set up - borrowed from an outfitter down the road. Walker’s sister and brother-in-law made the dinner (he was a chef) and it was downright delicious. The rain pounded on the tent but everyone was so cozy inside, buried under blankets and jackets and surrounded by space heaters (the Kraken Rum and wine probably helped too!). Seriously the most perfect day for these two and I was so happy to be there to capture it!
