Madi + Cael | Mountaintop private vows

When meeting with Madi and Cael about their wedding timeline this past spring, they expressed interest in sharing private vows ahead of their wedding day where they first met- Sacagawea Peak in the Northern Bridgers just outside of Bozeman, Montana. The day that they met was exactly four years before and it was so special for them to share their vows in such a special place! Madi and I met in town and carpooled up to their trailhead while Cael met us there as he was coming from the Shields Valley. It was lucky that we had two cars (and I usually drive myself for this reason!) because upon pulling into the parking lot, we heard a hissing coming from Madi’s tire and a huge rock had punctured it! We loaded into Cael’s car, sent a text to Madi’s dad via the Garmin InReach about coming up to help switch the tire, and went on our way up to the main trailhead. It’s a pretty quick hike to the saddle but steep and a bit technical. The wind was raging at the saddle so we stayed on the East side of the peak for them to change their clothes and say their vows. It was so sweet to watch these two and hear them express their love and commitment to each other. Such a special thing to do ahead of their wedding day, just the two of them.
